2011 AFS Network-SIIC Scholarship Awarded

We are pleased to announce that the following staff & volunteers will attend this year's Summer Institute of Intercultural Communication (SIIC) in order to gain insights on Intercultural Learning and multiply these back home.

A total of 32 AFSers will be in Portland this July, not only attending workshops but also hosting a "Meet AFS" evening and running an evening educational session on the topic of "Intercultural Learning without Leaving Home."

Six additional AFS representatives from around the Network will also be attending, with
Anna Collier, Manager of Intercultural Learning Services, AFS INT, present this year as
a resident fellow. Including the 11 US AFSers attending through AFS USA, a total of 32
AFSers will be present in Portland this year.

We hope to offer this same opportunity to members of the AFS Network for the July 2012
edition of SIIC in Portland so, please stay tuned for this and other future opportunities for
AFSers to increase our intercultural learning.
