AFS Celebrates the 90th Birthday of
Ward B. Chamberlin, Jr. and Art Howe, Jr.

More than ninety AFS World War II drivers, Returnees, former staff, current staff, family members, and AFS supporters gathered in the ballroom of the Yale Club in New York City to celebrate the 90th birthdays of Ward Chamberlin, Jr. and Art Howe, Jr. on Friday, October 14th, 2011. Ward and Art served as AFS ambulance drivers in World War II, and became founders, active volunteers, and life trustees of the AFS student exchange programs.

The celebration was organized by a special committee consisting of Jackie Cannon Brown, Jorge Castro, Tachi Cazal, Karin Eisele, Dan Hastings, Bill Meserve, Stephen Rhinesmith, Tsugiko Scullion, and Blaikie Worth.
