Educational Mission – Achieving Intercultural Learning
AFS sends students to live in a foreign culture for as long as a year. This intense experience helps develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to live in an increasingly global world.
Introducing AFS in Your School
Teachers have many options for encouraging participation in exchange programs, including organizing information sessions as well as acting as hosts for students and teachers from abroad. AFS also provides seminars and publications that explore how teachers can successfully become intercultural educators.
Teacher’s Intercultural Tool Box/Resource Library
AFS organizations in half a dozen countries also offer exchange programs for teachers. And we monitor publications, periodicals and websites that relate to the AFS intercultural experience.
