3/12/2008 - AFS Belgium Flanders celebrates its 60th Anniversary

In 2008 AFS Belgium Flanders will be celebrating its 60th anniversary. We are inviting all volunteers, host families, sympathizers and anyone wanting to celebrate 60 years of AFS intercultural exchanges with us on May 11th of this year.

Expect hundreds of party goers and about 200 host students and their host families, ‘hopees’ (youngsters who can’t wait to depart) and their parents, our alumni members and many others are sure to attend.

Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid, Prime Minister Leterme and Tachi Cazal, President of AFS International, will attend the celebration.

Our events will take place in Leper. The city, symbol of peace and remembrance, is the perfect place for AFS to reflect on its mission: encouraging peace and understanding to the youth of the world via exchange programs.

Many students from all over the world have already had the pleasure of experiencing Flemish culture, language and people.
