5/22/2007 - Petition Drive - Kick-off in Germany!

AFS in Germany announced the kick-off of the AFS Petition Drive campaign during a ceremony held in Cologne. The petition drive launch coincided with the “Constanze,” the new national training event held by AFS Germany for its volunteers, staff members and international trainers in on May 11 to 13. Ms. Angela Spizig, mayor of Cologne and former AFS participant (USA 1965-66), was the first person in Germany to officially sign the petition drive.

At the “Constanze,” Mick Petersmann, National Director of AFS Germany, introduced the Petition Drive by showing the film “Peace – it is Something We Can Create” and by giving all 370 attendees of the event the opportunity to sign the petition

AFS Germany hopes to be able to contribute many signatures from Germany and from around the world to support the Petition Drive!
