Requests for remote reference should include a summary of the research project, intended use for the research, institutional affiliation, and researcher contact information. The request should be sent via mail or email to:
Archives of the American Field Service and AFS Intercultural Programs
1 Whitehall St., 2nd Floor
New York, NY 10004
archives@afs.org
Due to the volume of requests we receive and limited staff time, it may take the Archives staff several weeks to respond to your inquiry. Please note that the AFS Archives does not maintain a database with current Returnee contact information, so we are unable to assist with these types of requests.
Remote researchers will receive thirty minutes of complimentary research by an archivist based on availability. Additional hours of remote research services will be charged at $35/hour and is also based on limited availability.
For in-person reference services at the Archives of the American Field Service and AFS Intercultural Programs, please consult our Reference Services page.
