Welcome to the innaugural year of the AFS Academy hosted by AFS Turkey! AFS volunteers and staff from around the globe will convene at the Legend Riva Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey. AFS Academy 2012 will take place from Saturday, September 15—Friday, September 28.The AFS Academy offers participants the opportunity to attend one or several one day to five day courses; listen and engage with internationally known internal and external evening speakers; participate in discussions of special interest groups; and visit and develop relationships with like-minded organizations, educators and business professionals in Turkey, all in a campus-like setting. This environment affords attendees the opportunity to meet informally for meals, walks, and beach outings with colleagues to explore new ideas and share best practices to enrich participants both professionally and personally.
Courses and speakers center around AFS's three focus areas of 2012:

• Program Development
and the areas supporting them. Bring your mind to the table and join this global gathering of learning.

The Hotel is located approximately 45 minutes to an hour outside of the Istanbul city center on the shores of the Black Sea, on the Asian side of Turkey. The location offers a quiet and beautiful setting away form the hustle and bustle of the city.
